Proud Supporter of – Upside Nepal

Darren has been an avid supporter of Upside, a not-for-profit organisation working in Nepal, since 2010 when he took his first trip there with friend and Upside founder Calum Foulner. In a whirl wind two week trip through some of the most remote locations, Darren was shown the ways in which Upside assists struggling rural communities. By ‘harnessing local knowledge and resources, Upside aims to encourage villages to use their own culture to cultivate a new future.’

In 2013 Dazzling Marine is proud to announce that they have officially taken a more active role in supporting this project. Darren has taken on the role of the ‘100 Roots Club’ manager and will continue to financially support Upside as a member of the ‘100 Roots Club.’

PROPGOLD is a two-coat system comprising an anti-corrosive Primer Coat and a Foul Release Coating (Clear Coat). The Clear Coat is a non-biocidal, low energy coating, which prevents organisms strongly adhering to the surface of the propeller and fast moving components directly exposed to water. Organisms can be easily dislodged once the boat is placed in drive. As with all foul release coatings, when not in use, the surface will be colonized by encrusting organisms. The removal of the fouling organisms is purely a mechanical effect.

PROPGOLD is suitable for application to all underwater running gear such as propellors, shafts, brackets and trim tabs.

New Recruit – Scott George

Dazzling Marine would like to formally introduce you to our new recruit, Scott George (left) and his long term partner Shelley. While the official news is a few months over due, we were successful in our application for Scotts’ 457 VISA.

Scott and Shelley aren’t new to Australia, let alone Perth for that matter. They have travelled extensively around the country lending their hands at whatever came their way. While new to Dazzling Marine, Scott is a bit of a veteran around the Fremantle Sailing Club, and it wasn’t long before Darren (aka Dazzling) took the opportune moment to snap him, and his skills, right up.

For the last 6 months Scott has worked under Darren’s keen eye, learning the ropes and becoming well acquainted with our clientele. Not only has Scott out done himself in regards to the quality of work he consistently is achieving, he has also created his own client relationships.

We are excited about our future with Scotty on board, and any new clients can look forward to being welcomed with the same warm reception as we have experienced.
